APPEALS

William McCabe has handled in excess of 2,400 appeals during his career. Most of his appeals have involved representing Claimants in Workers compensation cases. However, he has also handles other civil appeals, such as appeals in domestic cases, wrongful discharge cases and personal injury cases. The vast majority of the appeals handled are on referrals from other attorneys. The fees charged for handling an appeal depend on the type of case being appealed.

Appeals have very strict deadlines. A notice of appeal must be timely filed, or the appellate court will lack jurisdiction to hear the appeal. In addition, any notice of a cross appeal must also be timely filed. If a party is desirous of filing an appeal, they should contact an attorney as soon as possible to discuss the appropriateness of the appeal and to insure that the appropriate notices are timely filed.
